Job Description
Time to Gear Up your career...
CLAAS Harvest Centre is the largest privately-owned farm machinery distribution network in Australasia, servicing primary producers and agricultural contractors from 32 strategic locations throughout New Zealand and Australia. Each of the CLAAS Harvest Centres is a regional sales, service and support hub for the complete range of CLAAS and other leading farm machinery brands. As a family-owned business, we recognise the importance and value of long-term relationships.
Our flagship branch in the Waikato, purpose built and opened in 2021, now has an incredible opportunity for a Branch Manager to take the helm and bring expertise, energy and engagement to our capable Sales, Parts, Administration and Service teams. Bringing to market some of the most highly regarded, premium agricultural machinery products, the development of our Waikato CLAAS Harvest Centre site demonstrates our deep desire to grow our business to support the increasing demands of the farming community, which will be underpinned by the continued growth of our local teams’ capability under your stewardship.
We seek an accomplished and authentic leader to build on our solid foundation, to enhance the performance, growth and success of not just the branch as a whole, but each member of the team within it. You’ll naturally display traits of the Values we embrace as a business – Front Up, Keep Growing and In It Together – having proven your ability to bring people together, foster a culture of respect, trust, communication, and create success through building performance, embracing individual development and opening pathways for progression. You’ll be as equally comfortable with representing the Branch with our customers – “Fronting Up” to their needs, assisting them to “Keep Growing” and when the pressure is on at harvest, be responsive in a way that demonstrates that we are “In It Together” with them.
This diverse, senior leadership role will incorporate:
- Critical strategic planning to maximise customer relationships across full lifecycle and support growth of the customer base and market-share
- High-level customer engagement and relationship building to support and achieve a leading standard of customer experience
- Development of an empowered, collaborative and motivated branch leadership team, focused on continuing to build an engaging culture
- Bringing expertise and proven methodology to enhance workflow handling, customer lifecycle management and efficient collaboration across all functions of the branch
- Proven commercial acumen to support effective forecasting/budgeting, reporting and DFA management
- Partnering with our support teams to deliver key initiatives aimed at improvement across people & culture, learning & development, safety & wellbeing, technology, finance, marketing and customer experience
Our preferred candidate will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in leading a comparable major retail site with sales, service and support functions
- Either direct experience within the Agricultural Machinery market OR experience in a comparable heavy machinery environment such as transport/logistics, construction, mining/quarrying, forestry or similar.
- Strategic thinking and planning capability with an emphasis on developing existing, and securing new, customer relationships
- Proven capability in developing a leadership group and broader operational teams that are engaged, high performing, collaborative and accountable
- A visible, connected and high-touch leadership style, keeping a finger on the pulse of the business and making every member of the team aware of the importance of their contribution
- A change-ready, resilient and focussed working style who both embraces the challenges and pursues the wins associated with a busy, growing and evolving environment
- An ability to build strong and effective internal relationships within the broader Landpower business network
Alongside a strong remuneration package and the benefits of looking after our incredible Waikato site, you will also enjoy a high standard of support to equip you and your team and give you everything needed for your success. From our expansive and comprehensive learning and development resources and facilities, to our specialist People Business Partnering and Talent Acquisition team, to our rapidly evolving technology services, to some of the finest logistics specialists who navigate moving our stock around the world, to the expertise of our Finance team, to the direct expertise of our expert technical and product teams – you can rest-assured you will be well Geared Up for Success.
