CLAAS S10 terminal gets improved ISOBUS functionality

CLAAS has updated its popular S10 terminal used in ARION, AXION and XERION advanced technology tractors to become fully ISOBUS-compatible, allowing it to simultaneously operate the tractor’s steering system and ISOBUS-compatible implements.

Available with all 2017 delivery machines or as a retrofit option for existing terminals, the improvement means that simple, one-terminal control of multiple implements is now a reality.

Besides operating CLAAS steering systems, cameras and implement controls, the S10’s functionality has been further extended to include Section Control and Task Management features. “Section Control prevents overlapping by automatically controlling sections during spraying, spreading or drilling operations,” CLAAS Harvest Centre Group Product Manager – Precision Farming, Travis Ryan-Salter, says. “There are also adjustment options available for working in odd-shaped paddocks, around obstacles or on headlands.”

Travis says the Task Management function, available in TC Basic and TC Geo options, will be of particular interest to contractors and large scale producers. “Detailed operating orders for individual sections can be created using the Task Management program on an office computer and then transferred to the tractor,” he says. “If necessary, the operator can change and optimise the task data via the S10 terminal. TC Geo enables the variable rate application of fertiliser or crop protection products. Operating data can then be transferred back to the office computer to create proof-of-placement maps.”

The S10 features a 264 mm (10.4”) touchscreen capable of displaying multiple application screens as required.

A ‘favourites’ menu allows users to create a personal access screen that displays up to 12 commonly-used functions.
