292 Te Ngae Road,
STRIVE Conference to tackle a big future
Published on 16 July 2018
MORE than 150 representatives from throughout the CLAAS Harvest Centre network and Landpower will attend the Strive Annual Excellence Awards Conference and Gala Dinner being held in Christchurch on 1 and 2 August. Now in their third year, the awards recognise the significant efforts made by dealerships, teams and individuals across the organisation.
The two-day program kicks off with a welcome reception on Wednesday evening in the magnificently-restored Great Hall in the Arts Centre, followed by an all-day conference at The Piano Centre for Music and the Arts on Thursday. This year’s conference, kindly sponsored by JCB, will address the enormous opportunities and challenges facing the agricultural sector in New Zealand and Australia, not the least being rapidly-changing consumer expectations, technology and sustainability.
The ‘blue chip’ speaker program includes Agribusiness New Zealand Chairman, Conor English; KPMG Farm Enterprise Specialist Julia Jones; BNZ Head of Agribusiness, Colin Mansbridge; DairyNZ Systems Specialist Mark Neal; Silver Fern Farms Co-chair, Rob Hewett; and McWilliams Consulting Director, Dr Kyle McWilliams. The Strive Annual Excellence Awards Gala Dinner will be held at Christchurch Art Gallery, one of the city’s most inspiring venues, that night.
Master of Ceremonies will be well-known NZ television personality, Kanoa Lloyd, best known as presenter of New Zealand’s, The Project. VIP guests will include CLAAS UK CEO and Regional Director, Trevor Tyrrell; outgoing CLAAS Global Export Manager, Elke Hoyermann; CLAAS Global Country Sales Manager, Julian Kollmeyer; and Landpower founders and owners, Herby and Pam Whyte.
The categories for this year’s awards have been expanded to recognise achievement across a broader range of functions and organisational initiatives. The Herby Awards feature a new category for Administrative Excellence, in addition to the existing categories for Apprentice of the Year and Significant Contribution.
The Sales Representative of the Year awards have been streamlined to recognise seven individuals who have achieved the highest unit sales across the entire network for CLAAS LEXION, CLAAS tractors, CLAAS, AMAZONE, Seed Hawk / Väderstad, JCB and Used Machinery. Besides the prestigious Dealership of the Year award, individual branches will be recognised for their efforts in Customer Engagement and iDEAL utilisation.
Likewise, teams and individuals from across the network will be recognised for their excellence in Employee Engagement and Zero Harm Leadership. The importance of service and support will be recognised with awards for Workshop of the Year, Parts Team of the Year and Technician of the Year.
